Design Process and Behind the Scenes

Creative Process

From initial sketches and color exploration to repeat construction and product mockups, each collection follows a thoughtful creative process. Using Pool Club Mod collection as a case study, this page offers a behind-the-scenes look at how concepts develop into finished pattern designs.

Inspiration and Concept

Every collection begins with research, inspiration gathering, and concept development. For Pool Club Mod, vintage resort imagery, retro swim clubs, personal beach photography, and a sun-washed coastal palette informed the collection’s playful yet refined visual direction.

Sketches and Motif Development

Sketches, motif studies, and color exploration guided the transition from inspiration to execution. Through pattern experimentation and refinement, individual concepts evolved into repeat-ready designs that established the visual foundation of the final Pool Club Mod collection.

Pattern Development and Repeat Building

Pattern repeats were developed through iterative testing of scale, spacing, color distribution, and motif arrangement. Color refinement and repeat exploration helped transform individual elements into cohesive designs while maintaining visual rhythm across the collection.

Collection Building

Hero and coordinate patterns were carefully balanced to create a cohesive collection with variation in scale, density, and visual interest. Each design was refined to work independently while contributing to the overall Pool Club Mod story.

Final Production Application

The completed collection was applied to beach towels and coordinating cocktail napkins to demonstrate versatility across lifestyle products. Product mockups showcase how the patterns work together within a modern poolside setting while reinforcing the collection’s resort-inspired aesthetic.
